Snoring Cures

Snoring cures abound because snoring can be such so disturbing and problematic.

snoring curesImproving muscle control of the soft palate and the throat has been shown to be effective snoring cures for some people. One preliminary study found some reduction in snoring in people who sang certain singing exercises every day for three months. These people all began snoring in adulthood, had no nasal difficulties and were a healthy weight.

And, possible snoring cures get even stranger. Swiss research has also found that playing the didgeridoo can be effective. The didgeridoo is a musical wind instrument that produces a droning sound. It originated among Australian aboriginals.

Learning to play the didgeridoo requires learning circular breathing - a technique that helps the player to hold an unbroken sound for long periods of time by inhaling through the nose while keeping air flow through the instrument, using the cheeks like bellows. Study participants who played the instrument over a four-month period saw a significant improvement in snoring, daytime sleepiness and sleep apnea. The researchers believe that the improvement resulted from learning the special breathing techniques.

These findings may be consistent with the snoring exercises that Christian Goodman promotes in his e-book that are based on those performed by opera singers. His snore exercise program is designed to tone critical throat areas, the tongue and the jaw muscles to reduce the vibrations that cause snoring. This e-book is widely available over the Internet.

An example of a singing exercise used to tone the soft palate is making the sound "ung-gah" so you feel your soft palate come down and touch the back of your tongue on the "ung" and jump up on the "gah". Singing this sound repeatedly to simple tunes can help to tone your soft palate.

Targetted exercises can be a natural, non-invasive snoring cure worth investigating.

Other non-invasive snoring remedies include lifestyle changes that endeavour to address other causes of snoring such as excess weight, evening alcohol consumption and nasal congestion.
